It is hereby notified for the information of all 2014/2015 graduands (Regular, Sandwich, ISLT, Weekend/Part-Time and Diploma), their parents/guardians and the general public that the 10th Convocation Ceremony of the Delta State University for the Conferment of Higher Degrees, First Degrees, Diplomas and Award of Prizes has been scheduled to hold as indicated below:
Friday, 15th April, 2016
Jumat Service
Time: 12.00Noon
Venue: Prayer Ground, Site III, Main Campus, Abraka
Sunday, 17th April, 2016
Interdenominational Church Service
Time: 10.00am
Venue: Our Saviour’s Chapel, Site II, Main Campus
Tuesday, 19th April – Thursday 21st April, 2016
Collection of Academic gowns, Convocation Brochures and Scroll by graduands
Time: 9.00 am – 4.00pm
Venue: Faculty Offices in Abraka, Oleh and Asaba Campuses
Thursday, 21st April, 2016
(A) Convocation Exhibition (Organised by the Department of Fine & Applied Arts)
Time: 10.00am
Venue: Library Dome, Site II, Main Campus, Abraka
SPECIAL INFORMATION TO ALL GRADUANDS
Graduands are please requested to note the following:
i It is mandatory for all graduands to pay for the following items irrespective of attendance at the Convocation Ceremony:
a. Order of Proceedings N2,500
b. Certificate, Scroll/Folder N10,000
c HIRING OF ACADEMIC OUTFITS (FIRST DEGREE AND DIPLOMA GRADUANDS ONLY
Academic outfits are available for hire in the Faculty Offices. The cost of hiring academic outfits is indicated hereunder:
Diploma and First Degree Graduands are to pay the sum of Ten Thousand (N10,000) Naira only for the collection of academic gowns.
The sum of Seven Thousand naira (N7,000) will be refunded on return of the gown.
POST GRADUATE ACADEMIC OUTFITS
Higher Degrees Graduands are to purchase academic Gowns as indicated below:
Ph.D gown - N30,000
Master gown - N25,000
Mode of Payment: All payments are to be made to DELSU RECURRENT ACCOUNT NO: 600016978, SKY BANK (and receipt issued by the Bursary Department on presentation of Bank Teller)
(B) Convocation Lecture to be delivered by
Professor Julius Okojie, Executive Secretary, NUC
Topic: State Universities in Nigeria: Three Decades of Development, Prospect and Challenges.
Date: Friday, April 22nd, 2016
Venue: 750 Lecture Hall, Site III, Main Campus, Abraka
Time: 11.00am
(C) Convocation Drama (Organized by the Department of Theatre Arts)
Venue: ATCSAN Hall, Site II, Abraka
Time: 4.00pm
Saturday, 23rd April, 2016
Commissioning of Projects in Site III, Main Campus by
His Excellency, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa
Executive Governor of Delta State
Time: 9.00am
Conferment of Diplomas, First Degrees, Higher Degrees and Award of Prizes
Time: 10.00am
Venue: University Convocation Arena, Site III, Main Campus
ALUMNI FEES:
Alumni fee of N2,000 is to be paid by all Graduands through DELSU Alumni Account No. 0742001706 Ecobank
NOTE: Graduands wishing to collect Academic gowns are to deposit the original of their statements of results/certificates (as applicable) in the Faculty Office.
These would be returned to their rightful owners including the refundable deposits on return of the gowns in good condition not later than Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Every graduand is entitled to two guests Invitation cards. The cards will be collected along with academic gown, brochure and scroll in the Faculty Offices. Graduands and their guests are expected to take their seats on the convocation day not later than 9.00am.
