Redeemer's University, Ede, Osun State, has achieved a remarkable feat in the recent accreditation exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The majority of its academic programmes have been granted full accreditation status.
The results were conveyed to the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer's University, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, in an official communication signed by Engineer Abraham Chudunsu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu. This followed the NUC's October/November 2025 nationwide accreditation of academic programmes in Nigerian universities.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the outcome highlights Redeemer's University's consistent investment in academic infrastructure, faculty development, and programme relevance. He described the results as a testament to strategic leadership and a reaffirmation of the university's mission to deliver globally competitive education.
Several key programmes across the university's faculties have attained full accreditation, underscoring the institution's commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and adherence to NUC standards. In the Faculty of Management Sciences, Actuarial Science, Marketing, and Public Administration all secured full accreditation.
Similarly, in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, programmes including Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Physiotherapy were fully accredited, while Public Health received interim status. The Faculty of Humanities also recorded success, with English and Philosophy both earning full accreditation.
The Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology saw the Cyber Security and Information Technology programmes fully accredited, reflecting the university's growing strength in digital and technology-driven disciplines. The institution also achieved full accreditation in Environmental Management and Toxicology, Industrial Mathematics and Computer Science, and Statistics and Data Science within the Faculty of Science.
In the Faculty of Built Environment, Building Technology and Urban and Regional Planning were likewise fully accredited. The Faculty of Social Sciences programmes also performed strongly, with Psychology and Social Work attaining full accreditation status.
The NUC noted that full accreditation status is valid for a period of five years, signifying that the programmes have met all required standards in terms of curriculum, staffing, facilities, and overall academic delivery. Congratulations to the university community on this great achievement!
