Kaduna State University has achieved a major milestone in its efforts to provide wider access to quality higher education through technology-enabled learning, having received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence academic activities at its Distance Learning Institute.

The approval was conveyed in a letter dated 15th July, 2026, following a successful validation of the proposed Distance Learning Institute by an NUC panel that visited the University from 14th to 16th April, 2026.

According to the National Universities Commission, the Institute will initially offer the Master of Business Administration programme, which will be delivered through the ICT-Enabled Supported Blended Learning mode under the Open and Distance Learning system.

Key aspects of the approval include:

• The University must comply with all guidelines governing distance learning programmes in Nigerian universities.
• The University is required to implement the recommendations contained in the panel’s Technical Report.

The National Universities Commission also outlined its plans for a Post-Validation Assessment Exercise, which will be conducted after one year of operation as part of its quality assurance process. Additionally, any introduction of new programmes will be subject to assessment and approval by the Commission on a programme-by-programme basis.
