HETEROSKEDASTICITY IN A MODEL
In statistics, a collection of random variables is heteroscedastic (from Ancient Greek hetero “different” and skedasis “dispersion”)[notes 1] if there are sub-populations that have different variabilities from others. Here "variability" could be quantified by the variance or any other measure of statistical dispersion. Thus heteroscedasticity is the absence of homoscedasticity.

The existence of heteroscedasticity is a major concern in the application of regression analysis, including the analysis of variance, as it can invalidate statistical tests of significance that assume that the modelling errors are uncorrelated and uniform—hence that their variances do not vary with the effects being modeled. For instance, while the ordinary least squares est Read more...

ISAAC NEWTON
Sir Isaac Newton PRS MP (/ˈnjuːtən/; 25 December 1642 – 20 March 1726/7) was an English physicist and mathematician (described in his own day as a "natural philosopher") who is widely recognised as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution. His book Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy"), first published in 1687, laid the foundations for classical mechanics. Newton made seminal contributions to optics, and he shares credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the development of calculus.

Newton's Principia formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation, which dominated scientists' view of the physical universe for the next three centuries. By derivi Read more...

ADAM SMITH
Adam Smith (16 June 1723 NS (5 June 1723 OS) – 17 July 1790) was a Scottish moral philosopher, pioneer of political economy, and key Scottish Enlightenment figure.
Smith is best known for two classic works: The Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759), and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (1776). The latter, usually abbreviated as The Wealth of Nations, is considered his magnum opus and the first modern work of economics. Smith is cited as the "father of modern economics" and is still among the most influential thinkers in the field of economics today.[2]

Smith studied social philosophy at the University of Glasgow and at Balliol College, Oxford, where he was one of the first students to benefit from scholarships set up by fellow Scot, John Sne Read more...

Not everybody gets to where you are today
You pass through life only once.
Where mediocrity is too often the standard and too often rewarded.
There is intense fascination with men who detest mediocrity.
Who refuse to define themselves in conventional terms and who seek to transcend traditionally recognized human capabilities.
our world is consumed by small thing, when we are a people call to do great things like glorify God in our body, reverse the rise of inequality and repair the deteriorating religion that threatens everything we plan to leave for our kids and our grand kids
Only we can ultimately break that cycle, only you can make sure that the life you pass on is as good as we know it can be; but it requires your dedicated and informed and engaged determination
There's a storm inside of us ... < Read more...

Lesson about ANGER NAILS IN THE WALL
I saw this somewhere and I feel it might help someone here

NAILS IN THE WALL

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.
(Most importantly the last sentence)
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.
His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper,he
must hammer a nail into the back of the wall.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the wall.
Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down.
He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the wall.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested tha Read more...
