National Examination Council (NECO) Records Over 48.68% Credits In Maths, English - 2019 GCE

We present you the 2019 NECO GCE results statistics as announced by the Acting Registrar of NECO, Abubakar Gana.

The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the 2019 November /December External Senior School Certificate Examination results.

Acting Registrar of NECO, Abubakar Gana, in a statement on Friday, said the council has released the 2018 November/December Senior School Certificate Examination ,SSCE, with 48.68% of the candidates scoring at least five credits and above in both English Language and Mathematics.

According to him, a total of 65,207 candidates sat for English Language, out of which 41,214, representing 63 per cent got either distinction or credit, while 66,398 candidates sat for Mathematics, out of which 54,565, representing 82.18 per cent got either distinction or credit.

He also said 50,057 candidates, representing 72.57 per cent got five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

The NECO boss was however unhappy that there was increase in the number of candidates booked for malpractices in 2019 examination when compared to 2018 exercise.

He said: “While 12,084 cases were recorded in 2018, 17,004 cases was recorded in 2019. This came about as a result of the comprehensive monitoring by senior staff which also resulted in the decline in number of candidates with 5 Credits and above.”

Candidates are hereby advised to log on to www.neco.gov.ng, click on ‘NECO Results’ and follow the prompts, to be able to access their results.
