As part of the National Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) initiative to make university education accessible to everyone, the scholarship drive for the 2026 indigent award is now open across all public universities in Nigeria. The Scholarship Committee of ASUU‑FULokoja therefore invites eligible students to submit their applications.

All Heads of Department and Level Coordinators are instructed by this notice to circulate the information to every student under their supervision.

Criteria for Award

• Applicant must be financially indigent.
• Applicant must be enrolled in a university that has an officially recognised ASUU branch.
• Applicant must demonstrate satisfactory academic standing, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Mode of Application

• Each candidate must prepare an application letter not exceeding two pages. The letter should clearly state:
• Full name of the applicant.
• Course of study and current year of study.
• State of origin.
• The application letter must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
• A photocopy of the applicant’s valid identity card.
• A letter from the current Head of Department confirming the student’s CGPA for the most recent academic session.
• A copy of the registration form for the ongoing semester.
• Two recent passport‑size photographs.
• Applications are to be handed in personally at the ASUU Secretariat, Adankolo Campus, starting from the date this announcement is released. The applicant’s GSM (mobile) number should be included at the end of the application letter.

The deadline for submitting all required documents is 18 September 2026.
