The Federal Ministry of Education reiterated that every Federal Unity College across the nation will restart academic activities on Monday, 14 September 2026, exactly as scheduled. The ministry assured learners, their families, and all stakeholders that all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure a safe, orderly and seamless launch of the new school session.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, delivered this assurance, highlighting that the safety and welfare of students and staff remain pivotal to the Federal Government’s dedication to providing a secure and conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Dr. Alausa explained that the pertinent security agencies have been formally notified of the resumption plans and are maintaining heightened alertness around the Federal Unity Colleges and their surrounding areas. He noted that this coordinated approach is intended to protect pupils, personnel and the broader school communities as academic programmes recommence nationwide.

The Minister therefore called on parents and guardians to stay calm, rely on official communications and continue with their preparations, ensuring that their children report to their assigned Federal Unity Colleges on Monday as planned.

He also instructed school officials to keep close liaison with the relevant security bodies and other appropriate authorities to facilitate an orderly and secure restart of activities.

Dr. Alausa further appealed to students, parents, teachers, administrators and all other interested parties to collaborate in preserving a peaceful, supportive and safe school atmosphere, stressing that the wellbeing of learners is a collective responsibility.

The Federal Ministry of Education affirmed that it will keep monitoring the situation and, together with the appropriate agencies, will take all necessary steps to guarantee a smooth and safe commencement of academic work in every Federal Unity College across the country.

The Ministry reiterated its firm commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s education system and ensuring that Nigerian children enjoy access to quality schooling within a safe and conducive learning environment.
