The management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) has publicly rejected a counterfeit memorandum that has been spreading on social media, which incorrectly claimed that the start dates for the 2026/2027 academic session had been altered.
The university clarified that the alleged internal memo, bearing the date October 24, 2026, is fabricated and should be ignored by students, parents, guardians, staff and the general public.
In a statement signed by Registrar Dr. (Mrs.) Nkeiruka Charity Mbanasor, the administration reaffirmed that the previously approved commencement dates for the 2026/2027 session remain as originally set.
The institution reiterated the official schedule as follows:
The university emphasized that no additional modifications to these dates have received authorization.
Consequently, the administration urged all members of the university community to discard the misinformation contained in the bogus document and to adhere to the officially sanctioned timetable.
Authorities also called on the public to confirm any information through the university’s official communication channels before disseminating notices that could potentially mislead students and the wider audience.
For verified details and further questions, students should consult the university’s official website at www.mouau.edu.ng or get in touch with the relevant university officials.
The management expressed regret for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the circulation of the fake memorandum and asked for cooperation from everyone concerned.
