The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has announced openings for two fully-funded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Department, Prof. Muhammad Abubakar Amali, the positions are for research-focused candidates to work on two specific projects: 1. In Vitro and In Vivo Antiplasmodial Activity and Safety Evaluation of the n-Hexane Fraction of Combretum glutinosum Root 2. Molecular Mechanisms and Bioactive Compound Characterisation of the n-Hexane Fraction of Combretum glutinosum in Experimental Malaria
The sponsorship covers all laboratory reagents, chemicals, consumables, and bench fees. However, the funding does not cover tuition fees or stipends.
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following requirements: · For MSc candidature: Candidates must possess a relevant bachelor's degree with a CGPA above 3.5 · For PhD candidature: Candidates must possess an MSc degree relevant to Pharmacology and Toxicology · Candidates must be highly motivated to pursue a full-time programme · Articles publication and conference attendance are added advantages but not mandatory
