The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, FEDPOLYADO mid-semester break resumption date has been extended by another two weeks due to the industrial impasse between Trade Unions and Management.
Further to the three weeks old industrial action embarked upon by the three Trade Unions of the Federal polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, the mid-semester break declared for students on academic activities has again been extended by another two weeks with effect from Friday, 4th November, 2016.
A new Circular, addressed to all students, dated 3rd November, 2016, and signed by the Institution’s Registrar, Mrs. Sade Adediran noted that “in view of the continued industrial action embarked upon by the three Staff Unions, the Management has decided to extend the mid-semester break by another two weeks with effect from Friday, 4th November, 2016 to allow for a peaceful atmosphere on campus before Students’ resumption.”
The Registrar, who advised the general public to await further announcement on the resumption of academic activities at the end of the extended mid-semester break, counseled in the Circular that “all students, their Parents and Guardians are hereby urged to be patient and await further information at the end of the mid-semester break before making necessary travel arrangement back to the campus.”
While pleading with the Trade Unions to show understanding in bringing about quick resolution of the impasse, the Polytechnic Management regretted the impact of the extended mid-semester break on the Students and the academic calendar of the Institution.
