JAMB: Guide To Register For 2024 DE Exam

Feb, 13Views: 539

The 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations registration process has been initiated by the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) for all aspiring candidates nationwide. Following this announcement, JAMB has commenced the registration process for interested candidates across the country. During a meeting with media executives in Lagos State on Sunday, the JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, assured of measures put in place to ensure a seamless exercise for all prospective candidates.

According to Oloyede, UTME candidates will register before Direct Entry candidates. The sale of DE application documents and E-PIN vending will commence on Wednesday, February 28, and end on Thursday, March 28, 2024. These documents will be available exclusively at JAMB Offices.

Before applying for the JAMB Direct Entry form, here are some important points to note:

  1. The JAMB Direct Entry form is distinct from the JAMB UTME form, intended for candidates seeking admission into the first year of university programs.
  2. Registration is solely conducted at JAMB offices.
  3. It's not permissible to apply for both JAMB DE and UTME in the same year.
  4. The JAMB DE form is an online application form, requiring completion and submission on the JAMB portal.
  5. JAMB acknowledges and accepts only twelve qualifications/certificates.
  6. Statement of result is acceptable for registration within three years of the date of award.
  7. Upgrade from UTME to DE is available for candidates awaiting A-level results or whose DE results are not yet released during UTME registration.
  8. The DE fee for the 2024/2025 session is N3,500, in addition to other charges such as CBT Centre registration service charge and bank charges/commission.
  9. National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory.

Total amount for candidates who are not sitting for the MOCK examination is N6,200 and N7,700 for those who would sit for the MOCK examination.

Payment methods for registration include bank payment, online payment using ATM card or USSD code, and POS payment at accredited CBT or JAMB offices.

To commence registration, follow these steps:

  1. Create your JAMB profile by sending your NIN to 55019 or 66019 as a text message. Include 'NIN' followed by your 11-digit NIN number. E.g. NIN 00123456789
  2. Log into the JAMB portal with the code received.
  3. Visit an accredited bank, CBT Centre, or embassy (for candidates in foreign countries) to obtain the JAMB e-PIN and pay the required fee.
  4. Upon sending a message to 55019 or 66019, you will receive a 10-digit profile code, registered name with NIMC, and the total cost for UTME with or without Mock and DE pin.
  5. Present the profile code at the point of form procurement to receive the form ePIN.
  6. Present the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT centre for registration.

To retrieve a lost profile code or e-PIN:

  1. Send [RESEND] to 55019 or 66019 as a text message from the registered cell phone number.
  2. The Profile Code or e-PIN will be retrieved and delivered to the registered cell phone number.

Candidates are encouraged to ensure timely registration and compliance with all necessary requirements to avoid any inconveniences.
